I’m a terrible cook, but I’m trying to learn.

My family is trying to transition into a healthier lifestyle, and that involves me learning to cook. I’ve always been pretty terrible at it, thus never even trying, but this last month I have not let a bad taste get me down. I’m from the south so my instinct is to kill it with high heat and grease, but that isn’t really achieving our goals of a healthy lifestyle – just high cholesterol.
I’ve been reading up on the Paleo Diet and I’m pretty intrigued by it. I’m not a veggie lover by any means, I barely eat meat, and I am unconditionally and irrevocably in love with pasta, so this is a drastic change for me. I have a positive attitude though. I don’t feel as though I’m forced to make this change. I feel compelled to do it because I want to feel great – down to my bones.

It has been quite awhile since I updated this section. I will try to catch you up to my frame of mind. I’m trying to resist reading my previous entries because I don’t want to get nostalgic.
I have lost 30 lbs since my last update and I’ve kept it off so far. I’ve managed to shake my constant overeating and restaurant-every-night. I enjoy cooking at home and I really enjoy baking goodies! Luckily I have a lot of great neighbors who love my goodies too, its about the only way I can keep from gaining weight from all my cooking!
